Gorilla Records was formed as a rock label of Hyper Music Group. In July 2019, Quest. (through ZME) acquired 50% of the record label from Hyper Music Group.

2020-present

In January 2020, ZME acquired the rest of the venture and renamed the label to ZME Gorilla. During the announcement of the new name, they struck an international distribution deal with Transgressive Records.
