World of Comedies and Dramas (formerly known as World Premiere Dramas and Comedies, later known as The Premiere Show) was an American TV movie showcase series created by Warner Bros. Television for RKO Television Studios which aired on RKO Network from 1995 to 2002. The project consisted of 172 television movies, intended to return creative power to creators, by recreating the atmospheres that spawned the great characters of the mid-20th century. Each of 172 television movies mirrored the structure of a theatrical film, with each film being based on an original storyboard written by its creator and producer and produced by various companies. The shorts produced would be a product of the original creators' vision, with no executive intervention: for example, even the music would be an individually crafted score. Each "theatrical movie length" (ranging from 90 minutes to 120 minutes) TV movie would debut, by itself, as a stand-alone television movie on RKO Network. Some TV movies that were created as part of the project were then spun off into television shows in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004.
