WACI-TV is a commercial-free television station located in Atlanta, Georgia and it broadcasts on channel 8, which began broadcasting in June 1971 after GPTV's flagship station and PBS affiliate WGTV moved to channel 4. It is affiliated with both Treehouse TV and CBeebies, and is owned by WFXM Partnership Inc., since it is licensed to Athens, Georgia and serves the Atlanta area. Originally the station was known as WTAI-TV until early-1990, and was owned by Taito Corporation until late-August 1989 and Acclaim Entertainment until 2004 of which Capcom purchased the station and keeping their call letters.

1971-1988

When the station (formerly known as WTAI-TV) got launched in 1971, it was based on both the 1975 Rede Globo logo and the 1980 Showtime logo, but with the station's full name "WTAI-TV8" (which is based on the 1977 WQAD-TV logo) at the bottom, and offers the same idents, presentation, intros, and music as both Rede Globo and Showtime.

1988-1990

It was based on the 1987 WLVI "Living 56" logo, but with the 1988 Taito logo and the station's 1971 logo with "WTAI-TV8" (still based on the 1977 logo for WQAD-TV) at the bottom.

1990-2001

When WTAI-TV becomes WACI-TV and began branding as "Acclaim 8" in early 1990, the new logo for the station was based on both the Acclaim Entertainment logo and 1993 KMSP-TV logo.

2001-2006

It was based on the 1992 WTNH-TV logo, but the logo continued after Capcom purchased WACI-TV and no longer use the "Acclaim 8" branding of which the Acclaim Entertainment logo dropped from the 2001 logo in October 2004.

2006-2012

As the station begin broadcasting in HD, it was based on both the 1996 WTNH-TV logo and the Capcom logo.

2012-present

As WACI-TV begin receiving a new on-air look, a new slogan (which is "Atlanta's Greatest Station"), and a new music package (both "Entertainment Series" and "Theme Series" by Gari Media Group), we offer the new enhanced 2012 logo that is based on the 1997 WISH-TV logo.

Fall 2014-present

In fall 2014, WACI-TV and WGTV will swap channel positions, with GPB's flagship station WGTV moving back to channel 8 and WACI to channel 4, and to reflict the channel switch, we will introduce a new logo for WACI-TV that will be based on the 2007 WOAI-TV logo, but with "WACI" replacing "NEWS" and the Treehouse TV logo at the bottom-right instead of a star.

In October 2016, WACI-TV was acquired by WFXM Partnership Inc.
