MTN9 89

WIN Espírito Santo is WIN's channel (formerly an affiliate of SBT) covering the Espírito Santo region. Starting with the name MTN Espírito Santo, this channel was founded in 1989.

MTN Espírito Santo started broadcasting on July 12, 1989 as part of the MTN Network (now known as WIN Regional Network), as an affiliate of Channel Nine. MTN Espírito Santo at the beginning of the air broadcast mainly local broadcasts of Nine with little local news. Unlike other Nine Network affiliate channels, this MTN Network did not add a nine dots to its logo until 1993.

In 1990, MTN Network began launching its second affiliate, Rede Record (now RecordTV). In 1992, MTN became Record's main affiliate after Nine began selling 50% of it to Records, with Record starting to control its broadcasts on July 17, 1993.
