in 1993, DZVT-TV 46 started its test broadcast transmission, it airs religious programming at most part and cartoons at some part (mostly mornings)

in 1994, DZVT-TV began official broadcasting under "U46" branding, began to air general and news programming to compete other networks.
1998-2004[]
2004-2005 (main), 2005-2015 (secondary)[]
in January 1, 2005, Paxson Entertainment acquired U46 and all of its affiliates (including other affiliates that is affiliated by U46).

in July 2005, Paxson Entertainment rebranded U46 to i46, utilizing i: Independent Television logo.

2008-2013[]
in 2008, Ion Media Networks rebranded ion46 to Ion Philippines, also drops most of their programming (excluding news programming (English and Tagalog) and children programming) in favor of crime programming (including crime drama, true crime and crime comedy) and also axes most of religious programming (except one, which only airs every Sunday at 7am and one which only airs during Holy Week)
on September 12, 2011, Ion Philippines started its official Digital TV broadcast, utilizing same equipment used from most Ion-O&O stations in USA, its digital channel is consist of 2 Ion Philippines channels (one for SD and one for HD), Qubo, Animax, Shop TV and its 1seg broadcast, at same day, the Philippine version of Qubo was launched.
2013-2016[]
in August 14, 2015, Ion Philippines aired its final newscasts of its English news program "Positive News" and its Tagalog news program "U46 Balita", the final screen of each was news anchors waving goodbye to U46 News department, all U46 News workers, reporters and actors was moved to GS News department, EBS News department and FBN News department, rendering U46 News department to shutdown on August 15, 2015, the move was to broadcast more like its American counterpart.
2016-2021[]
in October 2020, Ion Philippines signed deal with TV5 to air TV5 shows starting with Masked Singer Pilipinas (which will premiere one day after TV5 broadcast at 1pm on Ion Philippines), this deal will also impact its sister channel, Qubo, which will air Batibot (TV5 version), Pidol's Wonderland and #ParangNormalActivity starting November 1.
in October 17, due to Scripps in brink to acquire Ion Media (along with Ion Philippines), Ion Philippines's Facebook page posted this post that says "we have a.... news, we are going to be acquired by E.W. Scripps, expect launch of Laff, Court TV and Bounce TV in the Philippines" teasing launch of Laff Philippines, Court TV Philippines and Bounce TV Philippines to be slated to launch on 2021.
U46 (second era)[]
2021-present[]
on January 14, 2021, following announcement of closure of Ion Plus USA and Qubo USA, U46 ltd. announced to rename Ion Philippines back to U46 on March 1, however E.W. Scripps will still owns U46 ltd. with SM Prime, following announcement, Ion Plus Philippines, Qubo Philippines, Ion Music Philippines and Ion Sports Philippines will be renamed to U46 Two, U46 Kids, U46 Music and U46 Sport respectively, in addition, U46's digital will also cease Animax Asia, Shop TV, Ion Tagalog and Qubo Tagalog operations and replace with Court TV Mystery, Grit, CBeebies and TechStorm respectively on February 27 (originally March 1), upcoming logo is yet to reveal.
on March 1, 2021, U46 ltd. acquired TDTN to be a Taugaranese affiliate of U46, along with TDTN Kids, TDTN Crime and TDTN Lyf (however TGT still owns their stake). Same day, U46 began to readds religious programs, while adding non-crime programs and also U46 News was re-established, (in WEWS-TV (E.W. Scripps' signature television station in Cleveland, Ohio) studios, instead of Philippine studios due to limitations and old U46 News studios was acquired by MHT).
on March 2, 2021, U46 ltd. announced that a upcoming news channel, U46 Newsy will be launched on April 17 during the re-establishment of U46 News.
