Under Star TV Asia's ownership, the name and branding was licensed from News Corporation. When this channel launched, it was an simulcast of Star Zone, then owned by Star TV at the time. This caused the Star Zone block on Disney Channel lose hours and move its programs to the channel.

Its idents are same but an Star TV logo was at the beginning and the voiceover said, "You're watching STAR, and this is FOX FAMILY."
