In 1999, after the success of Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, Nintendo decided to do a remake of the classic 1988 NES game Super Mario Bros. 2 known as  Super Mario Bros. Deluxe 2 on the Game Boy Color. Fans consider it a sequel to Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. However, the Yoshi challenge was attached when you complete the game. However, only five prototypes exist. In 2000, the game was cancelled. A month later, Nintendo redeveloped the game and released it for the Game Boy Advance as Super Mario Advance
