Radio Jakarta[]

1982-1986[]

Radio Jakarta was formed on March 1, 1982 as a Jakarta radio station in Indonesia owned by NBC Radio Indonesia Network (a joint venture between NBC and JPM Radio). It became the station's flagship radio for the rest of its existence after the launch of Radio Surabaya at the same time. The radio is on the AM line via the 86 AM frequency.

January-May 1986[]

In January 1986, Radio Jakarta adopted the NBC "Proud N" logo from 1979-1986, integrating NBC branding into the radio for the first time. The radio has since been referred to as NBC Radio Jakarta, although the logo was short-lived following the revision of the NBC logo in May 1986.

May 1986-2001[]

On May 20, 1986, NBC Radio Jakarta revised its logo by adopting the whole new NBC branding (including the peacock icon which was revised to 6 feathers). 3 years later, Radio Jakarta, in the face of competition with radio stations that were increasingly intense at that time in Indonesia, moved its line and frequency to FM via 86.02 FM in September 1989.

In 1995, CBS-owned Infinity Broadcasting acquired NBC Radio Indonesia Network from its joint ventures, including Radio Jakarta. However, CBS continued to maintain a joint venture with NBC and JPM Radio until 2005.

2001[]

Following CBS's plan to remove all NBC branding from the company rebranded as Network Radio Indonesia, all radios owned by NBC-JPM and CBS began removing their unique branding in favor of using CBS Radio's branding with their respective region names. Radio Jakarta thus decided to temporarily reuse their 1986 logo by replacing the NBC peacock icon with the CBS eyemark icon in March 2001.

CBS Radio Jakarta[]

2002-2012[]

In 2002, after the radio owned by NBC-JPM was transferred to CBS, all NBC-branded radios were officially branded under CBS Radio starting January 1, 2002, with Radio Jakarta changing its name to CBS Radio Jakarta. The parent company's name was also changed to CBS Radio Indonesia, making the radio station wholly owned by CBS (including this radio) after NBC-JPM left the company in September 2001.

2012-2017[]

In February 2017 ahead of the acquisition by Entercom Communications, CBS Radio Indonesia which also includes CBS Radio Jakarta was sold to Sky Network Indonesia. This resulted in CBS Radio Jakarta becoming the company's first Sky Radio O&O.

Sky Radio 2016

In May 2017, all CBS branded radios were officially rebranded as Sky Radio, including CBS Radio Jakarta which changed its name on 12 May to Sky Radio Jakarta. At the beginning of its change as Sky Radio O&O, Sky Radio Jakarta used the generic Sky Radio branding as its main logo, because the radio did not get the local version.

In September 2018, the logo was changed to match the new UK channel Sky logo. But initially it was only used as a secondary beside their 2017 logo, before finally using their 2018 logo in January 2020. It was short lived 11 months later after Sky Radio adopted the new Sky generic branding that matches the one in Indonesia (and in the United Kingdom) in 2020.
