1999-2000[]

SMT-TV 1999

SMT-TV was first signed as an independent station at Seahaus on the UHF channel 32 and is owned by Tribune Broadcasting (which since 2019 has changed its name to Nexstar Media Group).

2000-2001[]

On January 1, 2000 in the new millennium, SMT-TV officially became an affiliate of CityTV, making it the first station owned by an American company to affiliate with the network. SMT-TV later became an owned and operated CityTV station on March 2, 2000 after Rogers Communications purchased the 79% majority stake in SMT-TV from Tribune Broadcasting.

January-March 2006[]

SMT-TV 2006

On January 12, 2006, CityTV announced it would move its affiliates from SMT-TV to UIP-TV effective July 2006, which would result in Fox affiliates being planned to move to a stronger station at Seahaus, with 3 stations coming as new Fox affiliate offerings. Although it was reported that URS-TV and UCW-TV were interested in a network affiliate deal, Fox ultimately chose to sign its affiliate contract with SMT-TV on the same day due to stronger news and sports programming. Then on February 12 of the same year, Rogers Communications resold a 79% stake in SMT-TV broadcasting to the Tribune, causing the station to overtake CityTV's daytime and primetime programming lineup with Fox's syndicated programming. Finally on March 1, 2006, SMT-TV removed the CityTV branding from the reference and promotion network and replaced it with the temporary branding "32 Alive"

March 2006-2009[]

SMT-TV March2006

On March 16, 2006, CityTV eventually moved its affiliates from channel 32 to UIP-TV from its original schedule of July 2006, resulting in an affiliate swap that ended with SMT-TV taking over the Fox affiliate from UIP-TV. The network then rebranded its temporary logo to Fox 32 Seahaus as part of the then affiliate exchange. Tribune then transferred SMT-TV to its parent company, which was formed in 2008, Tribune Seahaus Company.

2009-2013[]

SMT-TV 2012

At the time this logo was used, the Tribune Seahaus Company through its subsidiary Tribune Broadcasting sold the station to Fox Television Stations on May 9, 2013 which also acquired WJZY and WMYT-TV from the Capitol Broadcasting Company. This sale resulted in SMT-TV becoming a Fox owned and operated station and the second station in the Seahaus area closer to Canada to be owned by an American network after UIP-TV, which Fox had owned from 1986-2002.

2013-2020[]

SMT-TV 2013

On July 2, 2013 the day after WJZY changed affiliation to Fox O&O, SMT-TV officially adopted the universal Fox O&O logo that was already used on various other Fox-owned stations. This logo branding, currently in use by most of the Fox O&Os, is based on the Fox News logo.

2020-2022[]

SMT-TV 2020

In December 2021, Fox traded SMT-TV to the Seahaus Network division of Rogers Communications in exchange for USA-TV and MyNetworkTV affiliate UWN-TV, resulting in SMT-TV no longer being a Fox O&O station. However, SMT-TV will continue to be a Fox affiliate until at least April 2022, including the use of Fox O&O graphic elements in its news division.

April-July 2022[]

SMT-TV June2022

In April 2022, USA-TV and SMT-TV exchanged affiliate statuses with SMT-TV becoming an independent station and USA-TV becoming a Fox-owned station and affiliated with that network. The exchange is a result of Fox's purchase of USA-TV since November 2021.

July-November 2022[]

CTV2 Seahaus

However on July 31, 2022, SMT-TV left its independent station status and became CTV2's affiliate in Seahaus, replacing UCH-TV which had become an independent station as Seahaus Public Access. To mark it, the on-air Branding was changed to CTV2 Seahaus, and the news name to CTV News Seahaus. But sadly, SMT-TV's affiliation with CTV2 was again short-lived, possibly due to the purchase of this station by Sinclair Broadcast Group which has been buying the station successfully since May 2022.

November 2022-present[]

Having previously planned to return to being an independent station, Sinclair finally chose to sign a new affiliate with CityTV to move all network programming to SMT-TV. As a result on November 6, 2022, SMT-TV switched affiliates again with URS-TV, this time with CityTV returning to channel 32 after 12 years since the network moved its affiliates from SMT-TV to UIP-TV in 2006; with all CTV2 programs moving to URS-TV on the same day. SMT-TV is also now adopting the CityTV branding to all reference stations once again.
