in October 2, 2020, ViacomCBS announced to acquire Rubio Holdings (along with GS Media Network) for 23 billion pesos, the deal to close on October 29, 2020 and the deal was unexpectedly approved by NTC, FCC and Philippine government (sparking controversy worse than ABS-CBN franchise controversy), following the deal, ViacomCBS plans to merge GS Media Network with ViacomCBS International Networks by November 23, the deal was closed on October 29, 2020 with aprroval acquiration, forcing netizens to rage about ViacomCBS's aggresive plan to bring Paramount+ to countries where ViacomCBS-owned FTA channels (like Network 10 Australia, Channel 5 UK, Telefe Argentina and most imporantly, GSTV Philippines) and turns all GSTV International channels into Viacom-branded channels
