MeloTune is a brand of portable media players, digital audio players, pocket handheld PCs, and music services created and marketed by EKS. It was first released on July 21, 1993, invented as the first portable digital audio player, having teamed with Meroview, EMS Electronics and Theorysonic. It was one of the early digital audio players before Portosic Digital and iPod. The first music-streaming service was launched in 1999.
