Laserium Game Studios
2011-2019
Laserium Game Studios is the video game production division of Laserium Holdings, responsible for the development and publishing of games. Laserium Game Studios develops and publishes games in conjunction with first and third party development studios under their publishing label. It has a good reputation for hiring developers from studios that have just closed down. It was established in 2011 in Los Angeles and Manchester, with a Stockholm-based game studio, which in turn were established after the acquisition of the Swedish publisher Nordic Softsales, and the game developer Prelusion Games AB five years earlier.
In November 2016, Laserium Game Studios merged its game studios at Osaka, Niigata, Taipei, Yokohama, Seoul, Hanoi, Singapore, Nagoya, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Jakarta, Makati and Hong Kong to Game Agent EMEA Tokyo, which later became GAC Team.
In December 2016, its game studios at Minsk, Nicosia, Kyiv, Istanbul, Stockholm, Madrid, St Petersburg, Barcelona, Hamburg, Helsingborg, Highgate were merged to Laserium Game Studios Paris, while it's game studios at Seattle, Emeryville, Sao Paulo, San Francisco, Mexico City, Santiago, Baltimore, Montecito, Boston, Salt Lake City, McKinney and Mountain View and the "Lucky Studios" gambling and lottery systems development offices in Argentina, Guadalajara, Mexico, Canada and Brazil merged to the Los Angeles studio.
In October 2017, after Visceral Games was closed down by EA, LGS Los Angeles hired the staff and merged with Santa Vincent studio and Virtual Words Group to form Singularity Games, in Redwood City.
In October 2018, Singularity Games acquired Laserium Game Studios Berlin and Montreal, Live Interactive, CedarMaple Games, GBC Games, GAC Team, Cannon Interactive UK and Roadshow Interactive (latter of which was a joint venture between LGS and Village Roadshow). However, the deal did not include the programming staff of the Berlin and Montreal studios. The staff in Montreal soon were hired by Eidos Montreal, EA/Motive and WB Games, while the staff in Berlin were hired by Epic Games.
