Kindernet Arkansas is a commercial-free kids-oriented television network that serves the state of Arkansas and is based on the Dutch Kindernet (which is now Nickelodeon in the Nederlands). It launched in 1977 as HBO/Showtime Arkansas with only two stations, it later become Kindernet Arkansas in 1988 and expanded to nine stations which is from 1979 to 1983. It is owned by Arkansas Local Television, Inc. with the Kindernet name under licensed from Viacom (now Paramount). It was affiliated with both HBO and Showtime until December 31st, 1987 when it rebranded to its current name and becomes a kids station.
