This "6" logo has been used by the station since its inception, surviving an ownership change, with some secondary design elements being changed along the way.
In 1985, Capitol States bought Central and changed its name to Capitol States/Central. This led to KPVI becoming a flagship station to the network alongside KCEN-TV in Los Angeles. The following year, it was absorbed by The Pierre Péladeau Company.
