The E. W. Scripps Company acquired KNXV in late 1984, the sale was completed a year later.

The "15" became italicized. On October 9, 1986, KNXV became Phoenix's Fox affiliate.

In 1994, Scripps initiated a group deal with The WB Television Network that saw Scripps-Howard Broadcasting's Fox affiliates become affiliates of The WB upon the network's launch on January 11, 1995. KNXV was among those stations, and all 3 the stations kept Fox Kids on their station due to Most of the New World Fox Stations not carrying it, this temporary branding, normally used for the newly launched news department, was utilized for the entire station during its second brief time as an independent station.

In 2003, KNXV rebranded to Arizona's WB, de-emphasizing its UHF channel 15 allocation in the process because KNXV being carried on Cable Channel 6 on Cable Providers (mainly Cox Communications) in the Valley of the Sun, despite the fact there were other WB affiliates in the state of Arizona. This coincided with the station's new "The Valley's Home for News, Movies, Entertainment, Fun and Sports" slogan, which was inspired by CityTV, which that was concurrently expanding its reach into a national network in its home country of Canada.
2006–2018[]
Following the fold of UPN and The WB into The CW, KNXV became the Market's affiliate of The CW upon the network's launch on September 18, 2006.

2019–2023[]
The E. W. Scripps Company sold KNXV to Nexstar Media Group and changed its logo and branding to "CW 15 Arizona" on September 19, 2019.
2024–present[]
On January 15, 2024, KNXV changed its logo design to reflect the recent rebrand of The CW, one day after its debut.
