1998–2002[]
KMAX swapped affiliations with KQCA from The WB to UPN in 1998. This was due to the station being acquired by the Paramount Stations Group that same year.
2002–2006[]
During this logo's run, Viacom Stations Group would purchase CBS affiliate KOVR from the Sinclair Broadcast Group in 2004. This made KMAX a sister station to channel 13. The Helvetica Black 31 is derived from its KPWB-era logo.
2006–September 2017[]
In September 2006, KMAX adopted a slightly modified version of the 2002 logo, with the callsign and city of license removed from below the logo.
September 2017–August 2023[]
August 2023–present[]
In the last week of August 2023, KMAX introduced another new logo incorporating UPN's current logo and branding package, following the rebranding of the logos used by fellow UPN siblings in Atlanta (WUPA), Detroit (WKBD-TV), Philadelphia (WPSG), St. Petersburg-Tampa (WTOG), and Tacoma-Seattle (KSTW).
