Despite KVLZ's former sister AM and FM radio stations no longer going by the same call-sign by 1973, Landmark Communications, who Gill Industries would sell the television station to in 1976, would change their call-sign anyway as a way of starting with a clean slate.

During this logo's run, Granite Broadcasting would acquire the station from Landmark Communications in 1992.
1997-2000[]
In 1998, NBC and KRAX, wanting to expand their exclusive presence to Prescott, agreed to pay Granite a substantial fee to cease broadcasting NBC programming. This was because they felt that KLKV was taking a massive share from the Prescott market. Shortly before their contract with NBC expired in July of 1999, KLKV signed a new contract with The WB television network
2000-2003[]
As the result of a 2000 dispute between CBS and KAAM (and its owners, Young Broadcasting) regarding reverse compensation, CBS programming would move to KLKV on January 1, 2002.
