The Australia & New Zealand version of the Game Show Network was launched in 1995 as a 50/50 joint venture between Village Roadshow Limited (50%) and Game Show International Channels, a Sony Pictures Entertainment company (50%).

The Australia & New Zealand version of the Game Show Network was refreshed with a new look in 2008, but matching its logo to the 2008 USA counterpart.
In April 2019, Old Dominion Media acquired the New Zealand/Australian version of Game Show Network and rebranded the channel as Ganador Australia, however expanding to include Papua New Guinea, and also the Oceanian islands, like Fiji and New Guinea.
