USA-TV (first era)[]

1976-1979[]

USA-TV 1976

USA-TV was first founded in 1976 as a major affiliate of NBC licensed to Laverne Town, Seahaus broadcasting on channel 11 VHF and owned by NasNetwork. NasNetwork then sold USA-TV to Gery Xiana, corporate chairman of TCF Oasina (Mein Corporation's predecessor) on January 6, 1977, becoming the first American company-owned station at Seahaus.

UPN-TV[]

1979-1982[]

UPN-TV 1979

In 1979, USA-TV changed its affiliation with UCP-TV, with USA-TV becoming a CBC affiliate and changing its callsign to UPN-TV while UCP-TV became an NBC affiliate. On March 7, 1981, TCF Oasina sold the station to the Wollongong Broadcasting Corporation, merging channel 11 with the company's UPN-FM radio station.

1982-1986[]

In 1982, CBC programming and affiliates moved to USH-TV which was formed from 1980, resulting in UPN-TV becoming an independent station.

UPN-TV January 1995

On 16 January 1995, UPN-TV became a charter affiliate of the newly launched UPN (United Paramount Network), becoming the first Wollongong-owned station to be affiliated with the network. On January 8, 1997, Viacom (which bought Chris-Craft's 50% stake in UPN on December 8, 1996) purchased the station from Wollongong, effectively making UPN-TV the station owned and operated by UPN.

2000-2002[]

USA-TV 2000

In 2000, after Viacom merged with CBS, Viacom agreed to sell UPN-TV to a company run by former Toonsat employees, Parala Media Stations. UPN-TV was later sold to Fox Television Stations in 2002, making UPN-TV a sister channel to Fox affiliate O&O UIP-TV (and semi-satellite station UWN-TV).

2002-2006[]

2006[]

USA-TV early 2006

Following the announcement of the shutdown of UPN (whose programming would be merged with The WB to form The CW), all Fox-owned UPN stations, including UPN-TV, dropped the UPN name and logo from their on-air branding. USA-TV modified their 2002 logo slightly, by replacing its UPN logo with the slogan "Turn It On".

USA-TV (second era)[]

2006-2019[]

USA-TV 2006

On September 5, 2006, UPN-TV became a owned and operated affiliate of MyNetworkTV, simultaneously changing its callsign back to USA-TV. On December 22, 2007, Fox sold USA-TV as the sole station MyNetworkTV along with 8 other Fox-owned stations to Local TV LLC, with the sale completed on July 14, 2008. Local TV then sold USA-TV (which is the company's sole MyNetworkTV station) to Seahaus Network (a division owned by Rogers Communications) in June 2012.

2019-2022[]

In November 2019, USA-TV became CityTV's new affiliate and became CityTV's owned and operated station, replacing UWN-TV which became MyNetworkTV's new affiliate as part of an affiliate swap agreement. Rogers later agreed to trade USA-TV and UWN-TV's MyNetworkTV stations to Fox Corporation's Fox Television Stations subsidiary in December 2021 in exchange for an SMT-TV station in Seahaus. This resulted in USA-TV returning to being a Fox owned station after 14 years, as well as being the first CityTV station to be owned by the network.

2022-present[]

USA-TV 2019

In April 2022, USA-TV became a Fox affiliate replacing SMT-TV which became an independent station as a result of an affiliate swap due to Fox's purchase of USA-TV. This exchange effectively resulted in USA-TV becoming the third Fox-owned station in the Seahaus market, following Fox-owned UIP-TV from 1986 to 2005 and SMT-TV from 2013 to November 2021. USA-TV began using the Fox O&O logo design in 2007 in addition to those already used by KCPQ in Seattle and KMSP-TV in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
