In 1996, Nickelodeon teamed-up with Warner Bros. to launch ToonUp as a weekday afternoon cartoon block (broadcast weekday afternoons from 2pm - 5pm (ET) on Nickelodeon). Nickelodeon was eventually pulled from the venture in 1998 due to some financial issues.

After the split up between Nickelodeon and Warner Bros. in 1998, ToonUp eventually became a 24/7 all-animation off-shoot of The WB's children's block "Kids' WB", with only a handful of cable operators.

This logo is also known for appearing in many shapes and sizes like the Nickelodeon logo and the YTV logo.

2004-2015[]

ToonUp 2004

When Warner Bros. sold ToonUp back to Viacom (not as a Nickelodeon block) on September 1st, 2004, Viacom gave the channel a new logo, identity, and on-air design, and also reformatted the network as a network for animation from around the world. The new variants of this logo were now hued colorings of any objects with the ToonUp logo seen on them, replacing the doodles used between 1998 and when this rebrand took effect. This logo is also largely similar to the AOL logo used since 2009.

2015-present[]

On February 5th, 2015, after 10 years of using the well-known 2004 wordmark, Viacom rebranded ToonUp once again, with a more generic metro style feel to it. The previous logo is still used on occasions, but is quickly phasing out already.
