Distinct Publishing Company is a joint venture between Sega and Nintendo to publish games for Nintendo handhelds following Game Gear's departure. It was originally called "Nintenega" from combining two names "NINTENdo" and "sEGA", and at the end of 1997, Nintenega was renamed to "Destiny Software" before the name "Distinct Publishing Company" got its name part in 1998. It was sold and absorted into THQ in 2002.
