Creator Arts was founded in 1990 by Tom and Fukumi Bergesen in San Jose, California. Tom and Fukumi both worked at multilingual TV station KSTS until 1989 when it became a Telemundo affiliate. The company began solely as an anime licensing and distribution company distributing anime in the United States.

1994-2002[]

This is Creator Arts' longest used logo and one of their more well-known logos. In 1996, the company relocated from San Jose to Charlotte, North Carolina taking advantage of North Carolina's low cost of living. Beginning in 1999, the company expanded its business into distributing and licensing foreign films, shows and animated content.

2002-2018[]

In March of 2002, Creator Arts introduced a new logo, which like the previous one has become of the company's most well-known. In October 2005, the New York-based Genesee Multimedia Group acquired Creator Arts and relocated them to Kannapolis.

2007-2012[]

Creator Arts' logo was updated slightly during 2007, replacing the logo's entirely maroon color scheme with that of a mix of dark magenta and black. The text was also changed to dark magenta. In 2011, Creator Arts was acquired by the company's management led by co-founder and CEO Tom Bergesen, and relocated to Indian Land, South Carolina, consolidating both its business and dubbing operations into one building.

2012-2018[]

The logo was updated again a year later its management buyout. The dark magenta replaced with purple and the Creator Arts words are now separate, stacked on each other and two different colors. RKO Media (a division of RKO Holdings) acquired Creator Arts in 2017.

2018-present[]
