CBeebies Action Television (sometimes known on-air as CBeebies Action) is a commercial-free regional children's television station that serves the Channel Islands in the UK and it is affiliated with UK preschool channel CBeebies. It is owned by BBC and it launched on April 5, 1980 as Action Television before BBC purchased the channel in 1986 and renamed CBBC Action Television which is renamed to its current name in 2002. CBeebies Australia and the UK CBeebies channel both handles continuity control of the channel and features UK and Australia presenters performing little sketches, showing viewers' birthday cards, and introducing the shows on CBeebies Action Television rather than the UK CBeebies channel.
CBeebies Action Television is on the air 24-hours-a-day/7-days-a-week unlike CBeebies which runs from 6am to 7pm and offers regionally-produced programming produced exclusively for the channel along with shows from CBeebies (both via the UK CBeebies channel and from the CBeebies/BBC Children's archives).
