CBN (Culture Broadcasting Network) is a Free-To-Air television channel in Sakaria. It is owned by the state owned NationalTV (or commonly called NTV)
Background
CBN was the first TV channel launched in Sakaria. Broadcasting started on July 12, 1955. It was launched by the order of the late President 'Ayarankein Braew' It was one of the four channels that Ayaran launched (the other channels being TVG9 (now SK9), Summik Broadcasting (now STV) and TVN (which later went off air in 2009)). This didnt last very long when in 1956, it was closed under the dictatorship of Rayan Dakano. Television Sakaria 1 (now TV1) was launched replace CBN. When the dictatorship fell in 1985, in 1996 the State Government re-launched CBN as a Free-to-air channel.
