Kuni

1999-2015

BS-TCA started in 1999 as Kuni, meaning Nation. The channel quickly rose to popularity 3 months after it's launch on the 1st of February 1999.

2015-2018

Kuni was bought out by TCA Worldwide on the 7th of July 2018, due to Kuni LLC's financial problems.

The TCA One logo was used on some Kuni programming.

The closing message before the channel switched to BS-TCA at midnight, on the 9th December 2018.

BS-TCA

2018 - 2021

BS-TCA launched on the 9th December, 2018, and was met with some criticism due to the naming choice, due to TCA not having a terrestrial station, namely not even TCA One Japan, the latter of which has regional variants in other nations. Despite the controversial move, the TCA went ahead with their plans.

2021 - 2023

In line with the rebrand of the rest of the TCA, on December 23rd, 2021, BS-TCA's logo was changed to the new TCA squares logo.

2023 - present

On August 19th, 2023, BS-TCA adopted the rebrand being made across the TCA's various television networks.
