The first Starzotan Ames opened in 1987. In 2002, they announced that they would be closing down all Ames stores due to filing for chapter 11 bankrupcy.
2002-2013[]
In 2002, Ames Starzota was bought by Kohl's and was no longer closing all of their stores in Starzota.
2013-present[]
In 2013, Ames introduced a new logo.
