as NigTV adds African content beyond Nigeria, NigTV was renamed to TV72.

in September 16, 2020, Disney Gau announced to sell TV72 to a company owned by group of African television and broadcasting corporations, known as Africa Network ltd., effectively end of September, while MultiChoice to absorb its stakes to Africa Network ltd. as it owns Africa Network ltd., making TV72 to rename to Africa Network, to avoid confussion with a name with a existing FTA channel number "72".

in September 23, 2020, Disney's selling of TV72 is confirmed, the owners of Africa Network ltd. includes, SABC, MultiChoice, 2M Morocco and ZTV Zimbabwe.

in September 30, 2020, Disney Gau revealed that Africa Network will be owned by Africa Network ltd. (90%) and Netflix (10%) effectively October 1, 2020.
