1998-2002[]

Victor of Japan

In 1998, AMC Japan was launched in Japan as Victor Channel, a entertainment/music-oriented channel owned and operated by Victor Entertainment Networks, Inc., a subsidiary of Victor Entertainment (owned by JVC).

At first, the channel was an DirecTV exclusive, but later launched in other pay TV services.

Victor Channel was replaced by MGM Channel in 2002, after MGM Networks acquired 50% of Victor Entertainment Networks.

Victor Channel was later relaunched in 2004.
