During this time, 8TV was also called Television Eight, even its Japanese name.

In 1995, City Television, the owner of the Malaysian version of MetroVision acquired the original 8TV in Singala and rebranded it as the Singaliese version of MetroVision in July 1995. During the rebrand, its screenbug was introduced, but in top-right like other free-to-air channels.

1995-1998[]

MetroVision (1995)

Following the official launch of the Malaysian version of MetroVision on 18 September 1995, MetroVision added the "blue, green shapes and red ball" symbol in place of the Fuji Television symbol. The symbol was used as a screen bug until 1998, when it's modified.

1998-2000[]

2000-2001[]

MetroVision Singala 2000 V2

In 2000, MetroVision Singala changes its format from Malay/Japanese variety channel to English music channel.

This was used only one year before relaunching into TVWorks.

TVWorks[]

2001-2002[]

In 2001, MetroVision Singala replaced with TVWorks, and the format changed to English entertainment channel.

Channel i[]

2002-2005[]

This logo is used for 3 years before closing down and relaunching 8TV.

On 1 January 2005, Channel i Singala closed down, marking sphMedia's exit of English entertainment television market.

8TV (second era)[]

On 31 January 2005, Channel i's space was occupied by an relaunched version of 8TV.
