Here we go, off the rails
Don't you know it's time to raise our sails
It's freedom like you never knew...
Hi, this is Driller from the administration team.
I'm here but only for like a moment, as I will be on a plane because we are going somewhere exciting. It's not just anywhere - we are visiting Japan and Indonesia, as well as China briefly as part of a two-week odyssey. This will probably be the most amazing trip in my life ever. We're gonna take you along and show you some of the most amazing things we will be seeing in Japan and Indonesia. I will spend more time in Indonesia. I have also prepared fourteen images in my Google Drive to keep myself busy on social media.
Here's our itenerary:
Day 1: We will be flying from Toronto to Tokyo (yes, I am flying to Japan through Canada)
Day 5: Flying from Osaka to Tokyo before we fly from Tokyo to Jakarta
Day 8: Going from Jakarta to Yogyakarta
Day 10: Yogyakarta to Bali
Day 15: Flying from Bali to Guangzhou, China, followed by Guangzhou to Tokyo, then Tokyo to Toronto, then back home!
If you haven't gone on any vacation this summer, you better do so, because this is the last month to get out and Smash (The Hero from Dragon Quest for SSBU came out by the way) because in a number of weeks, we will all be once again going back to school with the start of a brand new school year (yes, it is unfortunately that time of the year again). It can be nice to do so if you are tired of staying home all summer and maybe all those friends you never got to see.
But anyway, we have a number of things to talk about.
Welcome to the brand new Dream Logos and Fiction Wikis
From a request from Ootwar, the new Dream Logos and Fiction Wikis are here. We made some drastic changes in order to migrate our users to the "Dream Logos and Fiction Wikis 3.0", such as retiring the Chat module in favor of our Discord server. In addition, Zonnie has retired from the staff team and say hello to SonicAlexanderDX97 as your new moderator. After a difficult situation with Ootwar, we had to change our advertising policies. While wiki and social media promotion on the forums will stay, we still allow it on the Discord server as long as they are not spammed or if their intent is to annoy others with it. It should be noted that Wikia's Terms of Service prohibit unauthorized advertising but they do offer a formidable advertising program. We originally planned to include the URL to the Drillimation website in the wordmark but Kirkburn told us to remove it as it was contrary to their standards. You can still mention the URL anywhere else on the site!
Chuhou Joutai has been updated
We recently released a new update for the Chuhou Joutai demo - you can now play the fourth stage exclusively in Free Play mode. In addition, the intro has been revised as some players complained that it was excessively long and difficult to understand, so we simplified it along the way. If you haven't had the opportunity to try Chuhou Joutai yet, more details can be found on our website.
Where has development been going? Not too much lately. I will be taking a break in accomodation for the 2 week odyssey to Eastern Asia. If you look at the card below, Indonesia is one of the countries I'll be traveling to. Indonesia has more Muslims than any other country in the world and it's a country that's best known around the world for their mainstream teaching of Islam (which is the attire you're seeing Driller and Kagami dressed in). We've got Driller wearing a turban and Kagami wearing a hijab in the card while they are both dressed in their regular clothes, albeit it is generally considered haram (Arabic word for "forbidden") to dress in non-muslim clothing and/or expose your hair, but most muslims do it in places where Sharia law is not enforced or in muslim countries that don't practice Sharia.
Development on Chuhou Joutai may change over the next couple of weeks. As you may, or may not be aware, on July 18, 2019, Kyoto Animation, an anime studio that has fans all over the world (myself and Ootwar included) fell into victim of a murderous assault by an arsonist. Over 35 people were killed and Drillimation has called this "a terrorist attack." No group has claimed responsibility for it yet, but we have seen ISIS videos calling on fellow individuals for so-called "lone-wolf" attacks, where they say to their followers that they don't need to be in touch with or part of ISIL to pick up a weapon which they could use against the "kuffar" or non-believers of Islam. Please do not make any negative comments about this tragic event, as it makes the situation worse. We understand that you can make it a respectul memorial, but we will not tolerate disrespect from them.
Try CallApp for Android
Today, I want to give a shoutout to CallApp for Android phones. Are telemarketers bothering you with annoying calls in the morning, all afternoon, and even at night? They can put up such a fuss. This is why more than 25 million people trust CallApp, the unwanted call blocker for Android that can let you block telemarketers, scammers, and robocalls once and for all. Whenever you receive an unwanted call, you can pull up CallApp and block that caller from calling you ever again. It also automatically blocks future unwanted calls as well. It can stop the following:
Phony vacation offers
Annoying election calls
Shady fundraisers
Fake IRS scams
And don't worry if you block someone by mistake. You can go back to the last number in the block list and remove them. Falling for a scam can cost you thousands, but now you can block them using an app on your Android and do whatever you want to do! Check out CallApp's website for more details.
Formatting Functions are Back
The formatting functions on the Discussions are back (hence the boldfaced section titles)! Now you can boldface, italicize, and even add bulleted or numbered lists! Pre-formatted text is also available if you know a bit of HTML.
Verified Email Address for Discord now Mandatory
In response to a recent raid on the server, the email address associated with your Discord account must now be verified to use the server, like many other websites. You have to verify your email address when you create an account for any website, it is mandatory to prevent abuse.
What's new in media
I almost forgot to tell you what to look forward to in media, since this has been a long post.
Gaming
While there isn't much, we have:
Bandai Namco brings out a new installment in the Sword Art Online series, that being Fatal Bullet Complete Edition. That's coming on August 9.
On August 20, the Nintendo Switch brings you another Yu-Gi-Oh game, that being Legacy of the Duelist: Link Edition. God I love Konami.
On iOS and Android, PokƩmon Masters heads there on August 29.
Film
In case you missed it, Avengers: Endgame is now the highest grossing film ever, beating Avatar. This is basically the first film not directed by James Cameron to do this. Never had there been an opening like this in the film industry when it came out back in late April, as Endgame pulled $1 billion in worldwide gross in only three days. No film had ever come close to that. It made twice as much as the last Harry Potter movie did in its opening weekend. That film held the best three-day gross back when it came out in 2011. Anyway, here's what you need to know:
August 2 brings us another installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, Hobbs & Shaw.
On August 9, I dare you to go see Dora and the Lost City of Gold. It's already hated by fans, and I don't know what'll happen if it crashes at the box office.
Want to join the flock again? August 14 brings the second installment of The Angry Birds Movie. Since the first one received mixed reviews, it could get worse, who knows?
Looks like Lionsgate is cashing in on the toy-to-movie trend, as Playmobil: The Movie comes in on August 30.
This is Driller signing off and please wish me a safe trip! Please note I am semi-active during the two-week period.
I'm flipping the switch
Get ready for this
Oh, let's do the odyssey!
